Banfield Pet Hospital Manager Mobile Veterinary in Arvada, Colorado
The primary purpose and function of the Operations Manager is to manage the mobile truck veterinary clinic and ensure the highest quality of veterinary care, exceptional client service, associate engagement and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
The Operations lead (mobile truck) will be responsible for partnering with lead veterinarian and digital health team to create a business strategy for the management and operation of a mobile unit.
Due to the self-contained nature of the mobile unit and the need to drive, this role is an expansion and deviation from the PM role.
Key Responsibilities * Provide feedback to the Digital Health team regarding operations of the mobile unit. (Challenges, successes, etc.) * In conjunction with the Digital Health team, seek out partnerships with local organizations to provide veterinary care. (Retirement communities, corporate campuses, local retailers, etc.) * Restock the truck on a nightly basis from ‘home base’, perform daily maintenance (as needed), schedule client appointments, and assist the Veterinarian with client exams. * Identify potential “bottlenecks” and formulate solutions to remove barriers in medical operations that would impede the doctors from providing world class care. * Partner with the Lead Veterinarian - Mobile and the Digital Health team to deliver outstanding financial results. * Build business to meet client convenience needs. * Responsible for cost containment, cash control/banking, loss prevention, office and medical supply ordering, and inventory management. * Ensure compliance with all practice policies and procedures and with all local, state and federal laws. * Responsible for ensuring all associates adhere to mobile unit dress and grooming guidelines * Partner with Digital Health team to execute mobile unit objectives, goals, strategies and measurements (OGSMs). * Participate in Digital Health team micro-test meetings, discussions, and initiatives, as they pertain to the goals of the mobile unit. * Oversee and train associates on professional, efficient and exceptional client service (lead by example), to include client education about preventive care, pet health needs, mobile unit services, marketing campaigns, and other related information; effectively resolve client issues.
Context and Scope * The mobile clinic will visit clients’ homes, as well as central locations (retirement communities, office complexes, retail locations, etc.) to provide veterinary care. * The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the mobile unit is fully functional, clean and well stocked to perform duties needed during daily operations. The Operations Manager will also be required to manage the daily schedule (in partnership with the Lead Veterinarian – Mobile). * The Operations Manager will be responsible for getting the mobile unit to the locations and, once there, will need to assist the lead veterinarian with pets (just as a veterinary assistant does today in the hospital).
Job Specifications/Qualifications * Education & Professional Qualification o Preferred Type of Degree: Associate o Field of Study: Business Management or equivalent preferred * Knowledge/Experience o Years of Experience Required: 3 In what area: Veterinary Services o Required Three years related experience required (health care, veterinary profession, service industry, etc.), including direct supervisory experience (includes hiring, associate development, etc.) o Required Comfort in operating a 26 foot vehicle. Valid driver’s license o Preferred Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Veterinary Management Institute (CVPA) certification preferred. o Preferred Business development/growth experience (1-2 years) o Preferred Health care background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.).

* Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. * Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. * Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables. * Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds. * Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment. * The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate. * Environment where pets are present.
