Join us in ourefforts to better our community!As an Infection Control Coordinator This position supports the mission of TheMedical Center of Aurora/Centennial Hospital of optimizing the quality oflife of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medicalneeds to the needs of the whole person.What you will do in this role:As the Infection Control Nurse, you will be responsible for theprevention, detection and control of infections in the facility.You will be responsible for establishing, instituting and maintaining aneffective system for evaluation and reporting infections in patients.You will accomplish all of this based on a systematic body of professionalknowledge.What qualifications you will need:Completion of Infection Control Surveillance course is preferred.Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is desired, as employee becomeseligible to test for it.Degree in nursing or medical technology, or related field.Master's degree in public health is preferred.Experience in infection control or related areas such as nursing ormicrobiology.Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians,and other health care team members.Strong critical thinking skills.Demonstrates knowledge of microbiology, normal flora, pathogens andantimicrobial susceptibility testing.The Medical Center of Aurora, the first community hospital in the DenverMetro area to receive three-time Magnet designation for nursing excellence bythe American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), is a 346-bed acute carehospital located in Aurora, Colorado.
