Northrop Grumman Spacecraft Operations Technician 3 in Aurora, Colorado

The SBIRS Support Center Operations Hardware Maintainer (SSC/HW) will provide shift-based 24x7 support of the network, data communications, RF antenna, and hardware infrastructure within the SBIRS operational system. The SSC/HW maintainer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintenance coordination and problem tracking for any SBIRS system level outages. The SCS/HW may be required to perform additional duties as requested by program leadership. This position will report programmatically to the Hardware Maintenance Engineering Team Lead.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience with associate degree or 4 years' experience in lieu of associates

  • Requires an active SECRET Clearance to start and TS/SCI clearance eligible

  • Some travel required between Aurora and Colorado Springs, CO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts, pertaining to the network, data communications, RF antenna, and hardware infrastructure within the SBIRS system.

  • Ability to identify performance issues and recommend/implement corrections, identify alarm correlations and execute appropriate response actions.

  • Adept with network/system monitoring tools (Network Node Manager, What's up goal, Remedy)

  • Knowledge of network routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.

  • Experience with fault isolating and troubleshooting networks.

  • Understanding with firewalls and firewall appliances from Cisco and Juniper

  • Familiarity with utilizing network packet capture tools, network analysis techniques, and network monitoring tools (ie Trace Routes, IP Ping Status testing, etc)

  • Experience working with network hardware such as multiplexers, routers and switches

  • Proficient with network test equipment including; Fluke, BERT, cable analyzers and sniffers.

  • Familiarity with configuring Networking Equipment such as Routers and Switches

  • Capability to follow policies and procedures and be able to positively contribute to the evolution of the organization as needed.

  • Ability to coordinate real-time maintenance across a magnitude of entities, internal and external.
