The Front Desk Agentis assigned toperform all tasks associated with the everyday operation of the hotel's front desk including check in/check out, all manners of guest service, communication between all other hotel departments, management of cash drawer, and operation of PBX system. The Front Desk Agentis responsible for answering internal and external telephone calls, greeting guests, checking guests in and out of the hotel, establishing credit, maintaining guest and group accounts, managing mail deliveries and maintaining the Front Desk and surrounding public areas in pristine condition. Front Desk Agents create a warm, genuine and friendly atmosphere leaving each guest with a positive first and last impression.
The Front Desk Agentresponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greeting guests in a warm and friendly, prompt and professional manner
Register guests collecting appropriate information from the guest and make necessary notations in the reservation system, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location, process payment for stay and close out guest accounts at time of check out
Receive and process payments, explain guest charges accurately and professionally and respond to disputes of guest charges
Make room reservations, log guest requests and accurately maintain the status of each reservation
Manage incoming telephone and email correspondence in a prompt and courteous manner
Perform weekly pre-arrival and post-arrival inspections of high end hotels, condos and homes
Maintain front desk cash drawer within the regulations of the Vail Resorts cash handling procedures
Accept and log all incoming packages, ship and log all outgoing packages, accept and schedule the delivery of guest amenities and ensure guests receive all mail, luggage and packages in a timely manner
May perform tasks related to and assist other staff with bellmen, housekeeping and maintenance
Responsible for cleanliness of Guest reception and surrounding public areas
Fulfill concierge duties including dinner, transportation and activity reservations on occasion. Provide useful information to guests about local services and activities
Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and ethics at all times
Handle confidential information, including guest records with a high degree of integrity
Participate in training classes as assigned by the manager
Comply with all resort policies, deliver a consistently high standard of customer service within the department and maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and ethics at all times
Other duties as assigned by specific hotel Front Desk Managers/Supervisors
Qualifications:
High SchoolDiploma or equivalent - required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English fluently - required
Must have a Valid Colorado Driver’s License - required
At least 1 year of guest service, hotel or hospitality experience - preferred
Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time in excess of 2 hours without sitting - required
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Work, Excel and Outlook) - required
Must have strong communication and organization skills
Must be able to work in a team and be detail orientated
Must be able to work weekends and holidays, days, and evenings - required
Must be able to work a varied schedule depending on the property - required
Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
2 or moreyears of guest service experience - preferred
Knowledge of LMS property management system - preferred
In-person interview - preferred
Resume - preferred
Knowledge of Beaver Creek and Vail area activities, restaurants, mountain layout - preferred
The budgeted range starts at $12.32 - $14.40. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
