Contracting Strategy Director
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will be one of the crucial members of the Commercialization team, supporting, and often leading, the Commercialization team in analyzing, structuring, and executing against key initiatives. Some of these initiatives will be time-bound efforts to capitalize upon particular opportunities or long-term product planning for the fiscal year or sales cycle. You will work closely with Legal, Product, and GTM team leadership to develop the overarching product contracting goals of the teams and understand day-to-day challenges in working toward those goals.
You are a driving force behind the success of ODC contracting team, ready to roll up your sleeves to create and improve processes, maintain records, conduct legal research and coordinate communications across the team. As you closely support your team, you may find yourself working with multiple groups within the Legal Department, internal clients across ODC, and external parties. You're an independent thinker who isn't afraid to ask questions, and you're organized in a way that never overlooks the details. You'll help prepare existing agreement templates for use within our systems, maintain and disseminate supporting documentation and FAQs, and prepare and conduct trainings for the GTM team. You will manage projects to keep team information up-to-date and provide the team with a variety of relevant metrics. You'll also assist with other operational projects on behalf of the Products and Agreements Legal team.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven, goal-oriented, methodical and tenacious. The candidate will be able to effectively interact across various teams. This person will play a critical role in coordinating qualitative and quantitative details in order to meet the commercial objectives.
Contracting Strategy: Working with Legal and Sales Leaders to review, draft, manage commercial agreements and statements of work.
Project Management: Lead the organization of information and documents using internal systems. Ensure the accuracy of highly-detailed information
- Transactional Analysis: Gather deal data and analyze to ensure ODC isstructuring sales transactions and furthering ODC goals to reduce sales cycles and accelerate deal closure. This will be accomplished by meeting with sales teams to identify customer's critical business issues and assist in structuring transaction that meet both ODC's requirements and customer needs.
- GTM Planning: Advise GTM on the legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures.
- Training & Education: Serve as an authoritative source of knowledge on the Data Cloud business and Oracle Legal considerations, educating colleagues uninitiated in either legal or Data Cloud matters as needed.
- Misc Operational Reporting: Support the team in driving process for assessing & optimizing contracting workflow, product strategy workstreams, sales operations data integrity, exec-level project management updates, etc.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, in cloud or hardware. Law or paralegal degree is preferred.
Legal Acumen: Illustrated ability to interpret legal documents, negotiate contracts and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
Analytical Savvy: Developed knowledge of document review management applications, data manipulation, data conversion and data analytics.
Project Management: Ability to scope, prioritize, and manage numerous workstreams, creating and maintaining accountability of all involved parties to commit & deliver to specific deliverables & deadlines.
Relational Savvy: Works well in team efforts, building trust and respecting boundaries. Reads situational dynamics and responds appropriately. Influences rather than directs
Strategic Approach: Critical thinking to separate signal from noise. Creative thinking to solve for roadblocks. Methodical, disciplined, and focused in executing toward specific outcomes.

Serve as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicator actual versus business objectives. Provide updates to management regarding budget to actual, informing them of deviations and opportunities. Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions and/or deals. Communicate Oracle Business Practices to the organization and monitor process and approvals for full compliance. Drive implementation of new processes and procedures.
Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Ability to collect, organize, and display data in spreadsheet format. Follow-through skills necessary to get information from internal and third parties and have data errors/omissions corrected. For this, relationship management skills strongly desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills . Ability to partner across functions. 10 plus years relevant work experience.
