As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and delivering a large end to end project. You will have the opportunity to engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive of and design innovative solutions.
You will be comfortable working across time zones and through ambiguity. You thrive through building consensus and driving teams towards results. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
You will be building and maintaining engineering delivery timelines, unblocking engineering teams, defining, and streamlining cross-functional dependencies, and increasing efficiency and velocity of project execution.
An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces to deliver them in a successful and timely manner.
Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Experience in handling large distributed systems, cloud native applications and complex algorithmic programs.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
The right candidate will possess proven program management skills, will demonstrate experience leading medium to large products and projects. You are not hindered by managing competing priorities and are able to bring order to ambiguous scenarios. You can clearly & effectively communicate (written as well as verbally) across the org and up to senior leadership
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (EE, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams and demonstrate success in the shipping products on time.
8 years of technical program/project management experience
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects with multiple dependencies and constraints
Experience defining projects, identifying risks, managing cost, coordinating scope, identifying dependencies, scheduling, and deploying new products and features
Technical program management experience in projects involving large enterprise websites, content management capabilities is preffered.
Solid understanding of the end-to-end IT process, including architecture, design, implementation, and operations
Ability to take feature/design through the software lifecycle to release robust, high-quality, production code
Open to learning new technologies.
Flexible work times to enable working with team members in other time zones (Early and Late conferences)
Experience to work with offshore teams is a plus
Agile development, Scrum Master, and PMP Certification is a bonus.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.
Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
