Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

The Sr. Director of Data Center Tools is responsible for providing leadership to an engineering team chartered with delivering the software platforms and tolls that support physical data center infrastructure specific tools that leverage DCIS foundational tools and critical baseline data and power telemetry.Our team builds Infrastructure Software Tools that handle deployment, asset lifecycle management and security of our cloud services. We are reimagining the traditional end-to-end datacenter infrastructure tool flows to accelerate the pace of new region deployments and efficiently operate our data centers.
In addition, this leader will have a unique perspective from which to contribute to key business decisions and company-wide cloud strategies and initiatives. This leader will be a vital contributor to our product development teams and the Data Center Operations organization. S/he must develop a comprehensive strategy and drive results by:
Establishing customer focused solutions that deliver growth and tangible, measured outcomes aligned to data center operations with an extreme focus data accuracy.
Building, motivating and expanding team and individual skills ensuring the organization is agile, can scale to demand, and is optimized across all cloud products and business segments.
Measure, analyze, track and report business, process and quality metrics to achieve targets while examining trends and identifying areas for improvement.
Develop collaborative working relationships other functional areas within Oracle.

S/he will have demonstrated expertise with a cloud product technology company. The successful candidate will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of Oracle and Oracle’s customers. This role requires technical subject matter expertise and the capability to influence critical and timely transformational change for our customers.
The successful candidate will have:
10 years of manager experience leading and directing teams with many members located remotely and others that support success through a matrixed environment.
12 years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of C, C or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies. Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
An experienced and credible technical expert supporting physical data center infrastructure specific tools.
A dynamic technically-astute manager who understands what it takes to develop roadmaps, requirements gathering and delivering critical projects on-time.
