The Motor Vehicle Specialist Ithrough Motor Vehicle Specialist III classes are a progressive series limitedonly by an individual's ambition, attitude, and qualifications(experience and capabilities). MV Specialist II will have the opportunityto be considered to progress to the next step in the career progression.Progression is determined by various factors, including but not limitedto; demonstrated proficiencies listed in Appendix A and B, performance,professionalism, customer service skills, ability to remain calm andeffectively communicate in a stressful and demanding work environment,punctuality and attendance, and lives out the competencies outlined in theVision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clerk and Recorder's Office.The allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent inperforming the essential duties listed above and the ability to demonstrateproficiency.The Motor Vehicle Specialist III class performs Level I, Level II, andLevel III work processing the registration and licensing of all types ofmotorized vehicles while receiving additional training. This class isdistinguished from the Motor Vehicle Trainer and Lead Motor Vehicle Specialistroles that require specific training, may perform supervisory duties, andare hired based on position availability.Please note: Review of applications will begin immediately and continueuntil suitable candidates are selected. Interviews may commence prior to closedate.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples areillustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)Receives and participates in training on motor vehicle policies,procedures, processes, and application of statutes.Studies and receives instruction in the interpretation and application ofapplicable statutes, rules, regulations, and procedures; ensurescompliance with statutes, rules, and regulations.Processes new license and license renewal applications and issues motorvehicle titles, licenses, registration documents, validation tabs, andpermits.Accurately issues state inventory (tabs, plates, placards, etc.),and maintains files and records as required by the Colorado Department ofMotorReceives training and becomes proficient in assessing and calculating alltypes of fees and taxes; processes payment transactions.Provides information and responds to customer questions and issues.Performs increasingly more complex work as the employee gains experience,proves efficiencies, and independently provides motor vehicle services.Lives out the competencies outlined in the Vision, Mission, and CoreValues of the Clerk and Recorder's Office, maintaining a supportiveenvironment conducive to teamwork.Other Duties:Performs other duties as assigned in support of business operations,statutory compliance and department needs.All Clerk .and.
