DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Managerfor our Denver office. The successful candidate will be well versed intransportation design and possess project management experience with theColorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and local agencies throughoutthe Denver metro area. Through your understanding of transportation designand public client operations, goals and value drivers, you willsuccessfully link the company's capabilities to meet our Colorado clients'needs and provide leadership in the areas of procuring and deliveringtransportation projects. By collaborating with fellow members and partners,you will achieve client satisfaction and quality standards that result invaluable client relationships, positive name recognition, and repeat work.This individual will provide engineering and project management expertise onhighway and transportation projects including roadway studies, preliminaryand final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates,project scheduling, and overall project management. This position requiresproject management experience with the agencies and municipalities mentionedabove. Must be able to work effectively and communicate regularly withmunicipal clients; federal, state and local agencies. Prior experiencewith a consulting engineering organization and a proven track record ofsuccessful transportation project development and design is necessary, too.This position offers exciting challenges and opportunities for managing allactivities related to project scope, schedule, cost, quality,communications, and resources; mentoring young staff engineers,assisting in transportation market business development and participating inprofessional organizations and technical committees.Essential Duties of a Senior Transportation Engineer include:Provides department status, performance, and forecasts to the DepartmentManager on a regular basisEvaluates client needs and identifies requirements.Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, constructionschedules, cost estimates, environmental studies, and designs for projects.Evaluates the need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations.Assists in the development of marketing strategies for transportation projectopportunities.Attends onsite and offsite client meetings.Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control asdefined in the quality manual.Participates in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal preparation,interviews, and negotiations.Reviews project(s) after award to collaborate on workprocedures/sequences and developing schedules, budgets, staffing, subconsultant involvement, and progress billings.Forms a project team and sees that responsibilities are assigned and theexecution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule.Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for codecompliance review and obtains permits when required.Serves as Project Manager on projectsMeets with client management as necessary during the term of a project toresolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project's completion.Background Requirements Include:Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required;Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering helpful, but not requiredPossess a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience; at least 3 years ofexperience at the Project Manager level.Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license requiredMust have experience with CDOT design methods, plan preparation, standardsand specificationsEstablished relationships with key clients, including CDOT and otherColorado Front Range municipalitiesDemonstrated capabilities and success in managing medium to largemulti-disciplined projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.Proven leadership, communication, mentoring and client liaison skillsWorking knowledge of roadway design software's used to prepare engineeringand design documents woul
