As an Oracle HCM Senior Consultant , a typical day to include the following:
Responsible for actively participating in all stages of the Oracle HCM project lifecycle, from planning and design phases through testing and deployment.
Typically specializes and deepens skill set within a particular area, i.e, focuses efforts within a functional area such as global HR, compensation, benefits, payroll, etc.
Developing as a subject matter expert for clients and other colleagues to find the right solution to the business problem.
Develops working relationships with other members of team and management as well as external clients.
Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel clients, projects and assignments.
Actively participates in all phases of the Oracle HCM lifecycle, assisting clients with supporting and leveraging the Oracle HCM application.
Performs principal consultant duties as the lead functional consultant on Oracle HCM projects, responsible for the analysis, design, scheduling, construction and delivery of the Oracle HCM solution.
Executes assigned project tasks within established schedule.
Recognizes business process inefficiencies and recommends improvements.
Performs research on problems, separating the symptoms from the actual cause, and identifies corrective measures. Seeks opinions and feedback on alternative solutions and implements those that have been agreed upon by the team or client.
Completes his or her own assignments on time and with quality and suggests opportunities for quality and process improvements.
Understands the value of a project plan, adheres to established processes and standards, monitors progress of tasks against plan, and reports status to appropriate team members as it relates to project issues.
Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned, Q&A, documented deliverables, facilitation of Oracle HCM knowledge sharing sessions, and regularly posting best practices and knowledge sharing information to team knowledge sites.
Understands the importance of client satisfaction and applies it in the process of servicing the client. Communicates client feedback to senior team members. Understands and follows internal processes in responding to client needs.
May provide guidance and instruction to other team members, and coaching to more junior team members.
Develops estimates and high-level scope and timing
Answers all inquiries in a timely basis.
Keeps requirements, design, process and other technical documentation current.
Understands other Alight solutions and applications and how they interact with Oracle HCM.
Participates in the technical design and review of medium to complex technology solutions used to deliver Oracle HCM services.
Gathers, defines and configures system requirements in Oracle HCM. This may include the configuration of Business Processes, instance set-up, and security.
Develops test plans, test scripts and coordinates testing execution.
Responsible for troubleshooting issues and delivering solutions
Actively participates in various projects and initiatives as identified, aiming to improve and/or expand the utilization of the Oracle HCM product suite.
Responsible for the generation of client requested reports and dashboards (not requiring Oracle BI or those considered higher complexity)
Keeps pace with new functionality from Oracle HCM as part of Oracle HCM Release Management in order to influence the strategic direction of clients.
Assesses upcoming Oracle HCM release functionality and impacts to client.
Coordinates with client to execute release.
Responsible for systems/change management and operational deployment of technology solution(s).
Assesses service delivery for risks and takes necessary actions to mitigate.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the Oracle HCM application for more than one functional area.
May be responsible for development and management of HCM Spreadsheet Loaders.
Helps to develop and maintain functional and system documentation for Oracle HCM
Provides guidance and coaching to Oracle HCM Configuration Analysts.
Is up to date and knowledgeable on the Alight Oracle HCM Point of View and able to speak to the PoV to clients
Understands the Alight service delivery model and maintains standardization of client process.
Models and ensures integration and alignment across all services within the Oracle HCM BU
Two to three years previous experience in Oracle HCM, Payroll, Compensation or Talent/Learning solutions
Previous consulting experience preferred, either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software organization.
3+ years defining systems requirements.
Experience with system configuration and gathering and writing business requirements.
Experience troubleshooting system issues.
Must have the ability to work independently and perform against tight deadlines
Strong self-motivation balanced with a desire to achieve team goals is required.
Possesses sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Communicates effectively with team members and clients.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.
Ability and willingness to travel to client sites on average 5-10%of the time.
- Requires a bachelor’s Degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
