We are seeking a SoftwareDeveloper or Systems Engineering Intern in Colorado Springs, CO.ResponsibilitiesThe intern will support analysis, development, and modeling and simulationfor space and missile defense systems. The intern will work with experiencedsystem engineers and gain experience in software assessment, digitalengineering, DevSecOps methods and processes, Agile coaching,cybersecurity, and software specifications and standards.The intern can expect to work on projects such as:Using model-based systems engineering tools to develop digital engineeringproducts.Leveraging trade analysis tools to assess courses of action to informstakeholder decisions.Building webpages to represent customer-facing content and aggregate divisionprogram information in a user-friendly and intuitive manner.Analyzing system information to determine compatibilities and barriers tointegration.Working directly with the DevSecOps team and the senior DevSecOps manager totest system integrity.Building upon knowledge of cloud computing, i.e., AWS/GovCloud or similarDesigning, developing, testing, and debugging new features orenhancements to existing servicesEducation/QualificationsMust be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from anaccredited institution in a STEM discipline (mechanical or electricalengineering, systems engineering, computer science, software/hardwareengineering, mathematics, statistics, or physics)Desirable - Programming/scripting experience with MATLAB, C, C++ and/or PythonDesirable - Basic statistics fundamentalsDesirable - Experience with development and automated testingMust have a 3.5 GPA or higher and a graduation date later than spring 2021.Be an individual from historically underrepresented populations;including, but not limited to persons of color, women, persons whoidentify as LGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities.Provide 2 personal or professional references.Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a governmentsecurity clearance.Submit 500-word essay that tells us about yourself, including whatexperiences have made you the person you are today and what unique insightsyou can offer regarding diversity and inclusion.FTI is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
