The selected applicant will become part of an integratedcontractor team as a Junior System Administrator for a network supportinghigh-fidelity/high resolution modeling of the Ballistic Missile DefenseSystem (BMDS). The System Administrator will ensure the government'sdesired technical direction is consistently implemented throughout ageographically distributed data center and extended sites. Some travel may berRoles and Responsibilities:Serves as assistant Project Lead for the Huntsville ElementServes as an IT technical representative to the governmentAnswers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voicemail,e-mail, and in person requests for assistance from users experiencingtechnical problemsConducts day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software for amodeling and simulation (MandS) systemProvides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance andoperations supportBuilds, configures, and troubleshoots software and hardwareenhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgradesDiagnoses and corrects computer, server and network system issuesProvides continuous status information to ensure customer satisfactionInitiates customer contact, escalates to appropriate parties and resolvesincidentsResponds to technical issues as they ariseEnsures consistent technical direction and understanding between governmentand contractor staffEnsures consistent architectural IT application across the MandS productsEnsures consistent IT processes, practices and documentation across theMandS systemReports IT status to government and program managersPerforms other IT duties as assignedAbility to present architectural design using Microsoft Tools (Visio,Project, PowerPoint, etc.)Job RequirementsBachelor of Science Degree from an accredited academic institution in arelevant technical discipline and three (3) or more years of relevanttechnical experienceProfessional hands-on experience in design and implementation of the followingtechnologies: Windows/Linux virtualization, Windows Server 2016,Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy, Red Hat Enterprise Linux,VMware, storage technologies, and patch management solutionsCandidate must have cyber security qualifications IAW DoD 8570 standards uponemployment.Certifications:Security+ or Security+ CESecurity Clearance Requirements:Position requires that candidate possess, or be able to acquire an activeSECRET security clearance in order to access classified information.
