The Market Research Analyst 1 position exists to assist the Research & Insights team in developing an empirical understanding of our audiences – their attitudes, behaviors, needs, and interests to inform strategic decision-making. This is accomplished throughprimary and secondary research tasks and involves qualitative and quantitative research methods.This position will primarily interact with other Research team members but will have visibility across the ministry.This position will participate in project management with the support of more senior members of the Research team.Key project stakeholders include all departments and ministries that may seek assistance from Research & Insights.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
As directed by the Research and Insights Director (or designated more senior members of the Research team), contributes in any or all of the following (based on project needs): questionnaire design, sample requests, survey invitation processes, questionnaire programming, data collection processing, data analysis, conclusions and recommendations, report preparation, and presentation to internal stakeholders. May be assigned primary responsibility for some aspects of any given project
Works collaboratively on Research team projects
Aids in project management and client communications to meet project milestones and maintain efficient workflows
Develops expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods
Drafts questions for qualitative and quantitative research studies. Programs questionnaires into various survey apps and other research platforms; Develops expertise in data collection software
Ensures quality control during data collection and compiles collected data into clean, accurate datasets
Performs descriptive and basic inferential statistical analyses. Develops expertise in statistical software and techniques
Analyzes and codes open-ended responses from surveys, focus groups or other data sources; develops expertise in qualitative analysis and open-ended coding software
Initiates drafts of research reports; Ensures quality, accuracy, and user-friendly communication of research output (data, charts, tables, reports, presentations), including proofreading, fact-checking, formatting, and editing
Assists Director or other analysts in providing consultation and feedback to other departments/teams on research methodology, analysis, and application of results
Leads and facilitates focus groups and similar exercises (in person and on-line)

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Business, Marketing, Social Science (psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, etc.), Data Science, or Statistics
1-3 years of experience in data collection and analysis preferred
Experience in survey design, questionnaire development, statistics/data science preferred
Awareness of and willingness to develop a solid understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics highly preferred
Experience with SPSS, R, Python, or other statistical languages or software package(s) preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word…)

Stewardship Requirements:
Adheres to FOF principles of stewardship by using time and available resources efficiently
Pay Range:$19.61 to $23.47/hr.
