LinQuest Satellite Operations Specialist in Colorado Springs, Colorado

DescriptionLinQuest is seeking a Satellite Operations Specialist to join our team inColorado Springs, CO. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.LinQuest operates a variety of satellites for the Air Force's Space andMissile Systems Center (SMC), now part of the US Space Force, underthe STEC contract. This contract supports on-orbit operations of six uniquesatellites, with more scheduled to launch over the next year. We are lookingfor high quality, motivated professionals to join our team.ResponsibilitiesYou will function as a Satellite Operations Engineer and perform real-timesatellite contacts, configuring command and control ground equipment duringpre-pass, pass and post-pass periodsYou will support system readiness, planning, preparation, execution,and evaluation for satellite launch and early orbit operations, on-orbitoperations, and end-of-life retirement and disposalPerform mission and pre-pass planning, scheduling, data trending andanalysis, real-time operations, and spacecraft anomaly resolution.Establishment, implementation, and maintenance of standardized operatingproceduresConflict resolution to support the acquisition, tracking, commanding,control, and telemetry data acquisition for space vehiclesMission data reduction and analysis and data delivery to the customersOperational transition of satellites to different ground support complexes asrequiredYou will develop automated operations procedures and toolsImplementation of anomaly response plans including participation in tiger-teamdiscussions, recovery actions proposal and evaluation, implementation ofapproved solutions and anomaly report generationAccomplishment of long-term trending of vehicle telemetry and notification tothe government of these trends that indicate potential vehicle problemsReal-time evaluation of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems status inaccordance with established mission requirementsInitial troubleshooting of operational problems, assisting in determinationof root causes, documentation of these problems, and participates incorrective and prevention activitiesPosition will require shift work or support during off-shift hoursRequired SkillsAbility to use Microsoft productsAbility to use COTS software productsAbility to be an effective team memberAbility to present briefings, discuss and coordinate problems and recommendsolutionsRequires real-time problem solving skills and ability to follow procedures,checklists and contingency plansRequired ExperienceAssociates Degree in technical field or equivalent experience; Bachelor'sDegree in technical field preferred (Engineering, Math, Physics,Computer Science, etc.)1+ years previous work with satellite and/or payload operations,scheduling, deconfliction and mission planningMust have an active TS/SCI clearancePreferred ExperienceAbility to script and program (Perl, C#, others)Experience operating multiple satellite families in different orbits (LEO,HEO, GEO)Familiarity with AFSCN and TDRSSQualificationsLicenses and CertificationsTS/SCI (required)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate againstemployees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, ordisclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant....
