Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Facilities Coordinator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO .
Position Summary / Responsibilities
Coordinates the construction, installation or rearrangement of equipment and building facilities and/or equipment and machinery maintenance for assigned area. Maintains contact with and directs contractor representatives and assists in resolving discrepancies in design specifications. Verifies labor expended and materials used and inspects projects for conformance to engineering standards and codes, building techniques and safety practices. Estimates percent completion of projects and advises designated individuals of cost status.
Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
Minimal supervision. Work may be done without established procedures. May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Often designated as lead worker.
Duties & tasks are varied and complex. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.
Contacts are frequent with individuals representing outside organizations, and/or individuals of significant importance within the company. Contacts involve planning and preparation of the communications, require skill, tact, persuasion and/or negotiation to accomplish the objectives of the communication.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
Ability to provide technical assistance (i.e., interpretations of drawings, recommended construction methods, materials and equipment).
Demonstrated ability to set/align objectives and direct an engineering project management team within a work environment of divergent demands and input.
Strong project integration skills, leading across multiple departments and technical domains.
Experience with management of multi-phase design contracts, major project construction, and complete system commissioning.
Experience with schedule analysis and critical path analysis
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience with creating strong working relationships with city officials and other agencies
Experience with contract drafting and development of contract negotiation strategies.
Creative and model-based problem solving and analytical ability.
Excellent communication, organization, and presentation communication skills.
