Job Summary:

TheSupply Support Activity (SSA) Supervisor will plan, develop, monitor, review and modify efficient supply activity services to include the receipt, storage, issue, maintenance, inventory, material management and distribution of supplies within storage operations. The SSA Supervisor will monitor and develop resolutions to storage activity support functions/issues/problems, including: resource and manpower management, Safety, security, supply acquisition and automated systems. The Supply Support Activity Supervisor has full technical and administrative responsibilities for supervision and management of the following functions: Red Hat SSA management, Material Management Branch section, Hazardous Material Control Center, Inspection and Classification section, Stock Readiness, Storage Activities, Post Arms Room, Division G-Army Field Service Representative (FSR), Installation Turn-in section, Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) operations.

In conjunction with the Supply Department Manger performs the following:

  • Develops, interprets, guides and assigns work to subordinates in order to assure timely and satisfactory completions of assignments.

  • Promotes effective and efficient utilization of logistics automated systems.

  • Consultant/expert and point of contact for ASO, LRC on logistics programs to develop operational concepts, expand or change supply operations.

  • Prepares and presents briefings on the status of the integrated logistics management program.

  • Directs personnel actions and ensures adherence to EEO and other management programs throughout the organization.

  • Submits annual operations budget and ensures the department is adequately staffed and structure is proper to meet program needs.

  • Develops performance standards for subordinates.

  • Evaluates work performance, counsels employees as required.

  • Exercises leave authority.

  • Resolves grievances and keeps employees informed on policies, personal and other management program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Supply Manager in directing Supply operations i.e. the requisitioning, receipt, issue, storage and associated inventory control of all material and supplies necessary to support contractual requirements.

  • Directs the operation of the reparable exchange, inventory, storage and distribution activities.

  • Directs and controls supply provisioning of the Authorized To Forecast (ATF) excess retrograde equipment and supply for turn in to DLA-DS or Depot level.

  • Directs and controls activities which monitor and track receipt of materials and supplies, inventory, consumption, Care of Supplies In Storage (COSIS) stockage levels and property accounts.

  • Conducts inspection and reviews of all work and takes appropriate corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Ensure all weapons, sensitive and pilfer-able items are secured and protected at all times and entered into Unique Item Tracking (UIT) when required.

  • Manage the ASO Supply staff, including subcontractor employees and performance.

  • Organize, directs and coordinates the planning and production of included activities.

  • Provide direction and guidance to office, branch, and section Leads.

  • Performs duties as required as the Local Radiation Safety Officer (LRSO) for the project.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration desirable.

  • Global Combat SupportSystem (GCSS-Army) certification.

  • Five years military training in logistics or supply or equivalent civilian course work required.

  • Course in personnelmanagement desired.Through military or industrial logistical training,must have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of the theory,principlesand methods required to plan a base supply account.

  • A minimum of seven years’ general experience in management,Five years specialized experience in progressively responsible positions in theDepartment of Defense encompassing the following: understanding ofprogram planning, funds control, data collection and analysis and control techniques and a broad knowledge of a variety of supply functions such as storage, inventory management, shipping, receiving, troop issue, petroleum oil and lubricants.

  • Understanding a wide variety of supplies and services to include Class I-VII and IX, equipment handling, military equipment, automated Logistics Information Systems.

  • Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver’s License prior to starting or by 30 days after employment.

  • Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC and SECRET Clearance.

  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

  • Working knowledge of software programs related to supply operation. Computers, Microsoft products, printers, and copiers.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Work is generally conducted in an office environment.

  • However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

  • Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting. Employee use of Safety Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

Reports to the Supply Manager and functions independently withmanagement direction and review.
