The selected applicant will become part of an integratedcontractor team as a Mid-Level System Administrator supportinghigh-fidelity/high resolution modeling of the Ballistic Missile DefenseSystem (BMDS). The System Administrator will ensure the government'sdesired technical direction is consistently implemented throughout ageographically distributed data center and extended sites. Some travel may berRoles and Responsibilities:Serves as System Administrator Project Lead for the Huntsville ElementServes as an IT technical representative to the governmentConducts day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software for amodeling and simulation (MandS) systemProvides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance andoperations supportSupports building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardwareenhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgradesSupports, diagnoses, and corrects computer, server and network system issuesProvides continuous status information to ensure customer satisfactionInitiates customer contact, escalates to appropriate parties and resolvesincidentsAnswers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voicemail,e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencingtechnical problemsResponds to technical issues as they ariseEnsures consistent technical direction and understanding between governmentand contractor staffAssists in conduct of top-level IT architecture trades and developmentEnsures consistent architectural IT application across the MandS productsEnsures consistent IT processes, practices and documentation across theMandS systemReports IT status to government and program managersPerforms other IT duties as assignedAbility to present architectural design using Microsoft Tools (Visio,Project, PowerPoint, etc.)Job RequirementsBachelor of Science Degree from an accredited academic institution in arelevant technical discipline and bachelor's degree from an accreditedacademic institution in a relevant technical discipline and three (3) tofive (5) years of relevant technical experienceProfessional hands-on experience in design and implementation of the followingtechnologies: Windows/Linux virtualization, Windows Server 2008 R2,Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy, Red Hat Enterprise Linux,VMware, storage technologies, Host-Base Security System, AssuredCompliance Solution and patch management solutionsCandidate must have cyber security qualifications IAW DoD 8570 standards uponemployment.Certifications:Security+ or Security+ CELinux+ within 6 months or startingDemonstrated experience with configuration management using Subversion,Concurrent Version...
