POSITION: Library DirectorDUTIES: Promotes the library through newspaper articles, presentations togroups, library tours and attendance of professional meetings. Writes grantsfor the benefit of the library. Formulates policies governing the operationand use of the library. Prepares departmental budget. Responsible for manningthe check out desk for general library front line duties. Performs otherduties as assigned.SKILLS REQUIRED: Master's Degree in Library Science, with a minimum of 3years of experience working in a library and 1 year supervisory experience orany combination of education and experience. Knowledgeable of computers, theinternet, and library software.OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Is easily accessible and encourages input andcommunication from employees. Encourages subordinates to strive for higherachievement, innovation, and greater responsibility. Must be able toprepare comprehensive reports and present ideas clearly and concisely inwritten and/or oral form.
