Organizational Overview

SS&C ALPS is a leading Registered Fund Services provider in the financial services industry. Role Summary:

Can you embrace change working in an agile environment with shifting business priorities? We are seeing a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team.


  • Perform in-depth analysis of business processes. Evaluate multiple potential solutions and determine the most feasible approach.

  • Interact with stakeholders and users to break down high-level requirements into user stories

  • Work with business users to reproduce bugs

  • Act as the liaison between the business teams and the engineering team. Understand how to translate between business and technical terms.

  • Own a project from approval to delivery. Regularly engage with the engineering team to resolve questions, chase down answers, test applications and manage enabling new features.

  • Embrace automation and scripting.

  • Create and maintain documentation for application functionality.

  • Provide support on custom applications to business associates and clients


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, computer-related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of Business Analyst experience

  • Experience working in an agile environment with JIRA.

  • 1+ year SQL experience. Ability to write simple queries and understand relational data.

  • Detail-oriented and committed to seeing things through.

  • Self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively, proactively research and solve problems

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Strong financial services experience, specifically in areas of NAV accounting or fund administration.

  • Strong technical ability. Ability to look at code and understand what it does.

  • Knowledge of architectural patterns including web-based, event-driven and batch-based.

  • Experience working in a scrum-based and Kanban-based environment.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor the message to the audience.

  • Strong understanding of relational data modeling techniques.

  • Experience with SpecFlow or other Business Driven Development/Acceptance Test Driven Development tools

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. (This position is eligible to participate in a company bonus plan and stock program].
