Pay GradeEmployee Category Administrators Department Social Work EClass Code Full Time Professional Staff Position SummaryThe Department of Social Work is a rapidly growing academic unit consisting ofundergraduate and graduate education and includes the Master of Social WorkProgram, Bachelor of Science in Social Work Program, grants services,the Office of Field Education, and the Office of Social Work StudentServices, Administration, and Finance (OSWSS-FA). The CCWSCAdministrative and Financial Services Specialist works on the Colorado ChildWelfare Scholars Consortium (CCWSC) team to provide support withpurchasing, payroll, record keeping, budget tracking and financialreporting, both for MSU Denver and for CCWSC partnering universities. TheCCWSC Administrative and Financial Services Specialist works under thedirection of the CCWSC Director. The CCWSC Administrative and FinancialServices Specialist must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing and growingCCWSC program and Social Work Department, anticipating the needs of the keyresponsibility areas and strategic goals of the CCWSC and developing andmodifying activities and processes accordingly.Beginning in July 2021, the Colorado Child Welfare Stipend Program willtransition to the Colorado Child Welfare Scholars Consortium (CCWSC). MSUDenver will act as the lead university for this Consortium in partnership withthe Colorado Department of Human Services and the existing statewide StipendCommittee. The CCWSC Administrative and Finance Specialist will activelyparticipate in the successful transition of this program structure.MSU Denver is an equal opportunity employer. Duties/ResponsibilitiesBudget Support and Accounting Services 80%The CCWSC Administrative and Financial Services Specialist must have a highattention to detail and ability to multitask to support financial tracking andaccounting activities in the CCWCS that consist of external grant and contractfunds from both state and federal sources. The CCWSC Administrative andFinancial Services Specialist will be expected to track and report onexpenditures in several categories including: materials and supplies,travel, grants and scholarly awards approval and spending, professionaldevelopment funding, etc., including those of partner universities. Thisposition must be well-versed in accounting and travel policies and proceduresset forth by MSU Denver, the State of Colorado, and external fundingsources. Following the guidance of Title IV-E, this position will learn andimplement procedures developed to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness ofCCWSC budget management.This position supports faculty, staff, and students by processingaccounting and travel paperwork and purchasing materials and supplies with aneye to continual improvement in the effectiveness of this area for theprogram. The CCWSC Administrative and Financial Services Specialist willcollaborate closely with the OSWSS-Finance and Administrative team, theCollege of Professional Studies, Accounts Payable, the Office of SponsoredResearch and
