Verizon Wireless Communications Lead in Denver, Colorado

What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a communications expert with a passion for crafting and telling strategic and engaging narrative on behalf of consumer brands and products. As the PR / communications lead, you will lead the communications strategy to establish a new consumer brand and put a new product on the map. You will drive our strategic communications roadmap and anchor marketing activities in key messaging pillars, owning plans for employee, industry, and consumer communications. You will partner closely with brand, social, influencer, media, member engagement and care, plus product and partnerships teams, to orchestrate our narrative in market, influencing editorial calendars and ensuring marketing activities are fully integrated with PR / communications lens. You’re a master storyteller with a keen eye for when and how to utilize every tool and deploy the right narrative or spokespeople to drive business impact. This is a full-time position basedin Denver, CO, where you will collaborate with team members across functions as well as our executive team.

Your Role

  • Define the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for all Visible PR and communications, including employee, industry, and consumer facing engagement.

  • Develop a comprehensive communications strategy to establish a new brand and product, in partnership with cross-functional teams.

  • Orchestrate consumer press pitches and engagement as part of integrated marketing moments or product launches, with key focus on digital, mobile, and social first approach to how we do PR.

  • Manage reactive or crisis communications strategy as appropriate.

  • Foster and build relationships with key industry and consumer press.

  • Coordinate internal communications and employee engagement activities around key milestones.

  • Provide thought leadership to executive and broader teams for public speaking engagements, events, social presence, and map out industry engagement strategy and calendar.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have

  • 5-7 years of press and communications experience with increasing responsibilities in consumer brand or product (eg. technology, entertainment).

  • Proven experience of successfully building, launching, and scaling digital consumer products through strategic communications strategy.

  • Master storyteller and a communicator with keen eye for creating compelling consumer messaging and narratives, minus the corporate speak.

Even better if you have

  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally, as well as to senior stakeholders.

  • Comfortable with fast-paced environments and rapidly changing priorities.

  • Experience designing outstanding digital products for B2C environments.

  • Excellent CSS and HTML skills; understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; working knowledge of ActionScript, Adobe Suite.

  • Demonstrated expertise of design techniques, skills, tools and procedures for the applicable media.

  • Ability to work with highly technical teams.

  • Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines and directions.

  • A strong online portfolio demonstrating solid digital design skills and innovative interactive work.
