Alsco Inc. Fleet Mechanic $23.00/per Hour - FLEET18948 in Denver, Colorado

Full Time- 40 hours a week (Monday thru Friday) some occasional Saturdays-per business demands.Medical-Dental- Vision- available after waiting period.Paid sick leave- up to 80 hours.Vacation- 40 hours first year.Job Summary:The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for repairs and maintenance of all fleetvehicles, which includes engine, transmissions, hydraulic,electrical, pneumatic and other mechanical systems. Reports to the FleetManageEssential Functions:- Repair and maintain fleet vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations,federal and state law, manufacturing requirements and industry qualitystandards.. Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs. Perform regularpreventive maintenance. The position also requires operating vehicles toperform road tests of vehicles and operators.- Maintain documentation such as DOT, repair orders, inspections, PMscheduling and inventory. Order parts as needed.- Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PC, AC,power trains, engines, brakes, electrical, fuel and other automotive systems.- Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so thatminimal down-time is experienced and operational processes are continuallyimproved.- Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.- Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required byAlsco, law, and also recognized as common practice in the industry. Keepwork areas clean, organized and safe.- Remain current on equipment and repair procedures.- Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.- Follow written and verbal instructions. Perform other tasks as directed bysupervision.Additional Functions:- Drive and pick up parts, transport parts, etc.- May work with and support other plant personnel and perform other functionsas required by supervision.Qualifications:- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, ability tocomprehend and follow direction, perform basic math, good time managementskills and be a team player.- Have and maintain a valid Class A drivers license and a record free ofchargeable accidents, speeding or safety violations.- Minimum of three years automotive repair and maintenance experience,working on fleet vehicles, with specific knowledge of large transportmechanics- Some Alsco locations may require the fleet mechanic to have their own tools.- Excellent attendance recordEducation:- High School graduation or similar experience.- Successful completion of Class A driving school.- Some Alsco locations may require certifications such as an ASEcertification, or have completed an approved auto mechanics Vo-Tech programor equivalent.Typical Physical Activity:- Physical Demands/Requirements during the shift - Standing, walking,bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, kneeling, working in confinedareas, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting andcarrying up to 100 lbs., driving, sitting, writing, speaking and hearing.Typical Environmental Conditions:- Inside and outside areas of fleet vehicles, which includes working withand around automotive fluids and chemicals, large machinery or tools.Includes public roadways while driving the vehicles.Travel Requirements:- Occasional, such as to procure parts.Revised:06/20/2019Equal OpportunityEmployer-minorities/females/veterans/individuals withdisabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
