Global Management Services, LLC a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified full-time Grounds Laborer in Denver, CO. The Grounds Laborer is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains the outsides of buildings.


The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

  • Perform ground-keeping and building maintenance duties

  • Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawn mower

  • Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge walks, flower beds and walls

  • Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes

  • Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitoes, wasps, ticks and other related pests

  • Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth

  • Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down

  • Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other related duties

  • Sweep walkway of debris

  • Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger

  • Trim shrubs and pull weeds

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping

  • Install lawn furniture

  • Rake, mulch and prune grounds as needed

  • Install rock, cement, lighting, water and/or furniture as needed

  • Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer


Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • The ability to follow directions and work independently or in a team setting to accomplish tasks.


  • Experience operating lawn equipment, medium duty trucks, pulling trailers, operating UTV’s.

  • Experience and/ or certifications in safety such as OSHA

  • The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly

  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds

  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces

  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations


Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The ability to work in extreme weather

  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day

  • The ability to respond to after-hour calls on short notice


  • No supervisory responsibilities.


As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
