Learn more by visitingGeneral SummaryPlan, prioritize, coordinate and monitor activities in the department toensure accurate, timely and efficient service. Manage, train and evaluatestaff to achieve and maintain department standards. Develop and deliverprograms that support business needs.Essential FunctionsLead projects for the division from inception to completionDevelop and maintain strategic partnerships with VSP Division ManagementTeams; provide business partners and key executives with customerperspective and facilitate timely response to complex business challenges andopportunitiesRecommend and implement procedural and systems changes to deliver qualityservice to internal and external customersFacilitate change in VSP processes, procedures and systems within theCustomer Service Division; develop and implement communication strategiesthat support VSP and the division Mission, Vision, Value and GoalsEnsure effective communication is maintained within the division andexternally. Where appropriate, inform employees as to plans and programs;conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervalsBuild strong customer focused service teams; monitor performance of directreports; provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conductperformance evaluations and recommend salary increasesPrioritize, assign and distribute work to ensure responsibility is at theappropriate level and team member's skills are developed to support businessneedsIdentify, consolidate and prioritize training needs and coordinate trainingprograms with the training unitMonitor turnover, productivity and overall performance to ensure adequatestaffing and performance that meets department standardsEnsure qualified candidates are selected for department position throughparticipation and oversight of the hiring processAssist in the development of the division budget. Monitor expenses to ensurecosts are within established levelsIdentify and support opportunities for process improvements, resulting incost efficienciesCoordinate with other units/departments to facilitate special requests,coordinate tasks and resolve escalated issuesJob SpecificationsTypically has the following skills or abilities:Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of management experience with responsibilities forhiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reportsWorking knowledge of Claim systems, business processes and policies andproceduresKnowledge of quality performance monitoring and improvement methodsDemonstrated ability to analyze work processes and implement changesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and project management skillsProficient with word processing and spreadsheet applicationsPreferred SkillsExperience managing business and/or system analysis teamsExperience with claims systems and claims adjudicationExperience with Agile methodologiesProject management skillsTools - SQL, JIRAWorking Conditions / Physical DemandsThe working environment is generally favorable.
