A professional position at Xcel Energy could be just whatyou're looking for.Position SummaryUsing independent market analysis and routine interaction with front officetrading team, develop intuitive knowledge of market risk position andincremental impact of new transactions on daily basis. Performcredit/collateral optimization on portfolio level to determine optimal useof credit lines, cleared vs. OTC credit arrangements and Dodd Frank impactsand propose strategies including trade execution and novation. Develop stresstest and other scenario analysis to forecast deal related credit exposures andmargin requirements. Coordinate review and approval of credit optimizationplan across functional groups.Essential ResponsibilitiesCalculate and analyze daily risk report valuations including value at risk,stop loss, portfolio position and credit exposures and assess validity ofvalues given knowledge of portfolio and market changes.Develop opinions on market and credit risk values and present views to seniormanagement during structured deal review process.Develop stress testing, scenario analysis and reporting process for expectedexposure values to include margin calls and expected margin requirements.Proactively identify material report discrepancies if any. Coordinate acrossfunctional groups to develop and implement plan to correct official riskreports.Coordinate with valuation strategists and quantitative system strategists todevelop and implement reliable, efficient and timely risk reporting tools.Understand, analyze and quantify market and credit value/risk propositionsfor structured deal pricing including offering opinions on improving dealstructures to enhance portfolio value.Coordinate with valuation strategists to correct gaps and errors discoveredthrough daily, monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis process.Coordinate with senior management, commercial management and controlleadership to ensure official risk limit structure aligns with business growthgoals and risk tolerance limits.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in a highly quantitative discipline such as engineering,mathematics, physics, quantitative analysis, finance, economics or arelated discipline.Graduate degree strongly preferred.At least 3 years of experience in quantitative risk and/or market analysisin the energy industries or equivalent experience.Knowledge of energy trading terminology, commodity markets and theanalytical and statistical methods required to evaluate those markets.Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel VBA.
