Posting Details Posting Number S00026 Position Title Materials Collection Assistant Position Number Student Work-Study Hourly Wage13.00 EmployeeCategory Student Department Art Location College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Position SummaryThe Art Department Materials Collection Assistant will help with theorganization, storage, and presentation of the Art Department MaterialsCollection, which consists of artistic artifacts, materials, andexamples of processes. The Materials Collection Assistant will assist in theday-to-day management of the collection and presentation in the Art HistoryDisplay Case. Duties may include but are not limited to: creating labels andphotographing new acquisitions, researching appropriate storage solutionsfor preservation of the collection, selecting objects for display in the ArtHistory Display Case, and researching the historical use of materials andprocesses. 5-10 hours a week.Because the Department of Art represents and works with a diverse community ofindividuals, all student employees are expected to assist the department increating a receptive, positive, inclusive, and equitable space forfaculty, students, and staff to conduct business, be productive andcollaborative, and make genuine human connections. Duties/ResponsibilitiesArchive and document new acquisitions (15%)*Photograph and tag newly acquired objects.*Organize objects with guidance from faculty and create and maintain anefficient check out system.*Utilize a variety of applications within Microsoft office suite, and avariety of other online scholarly databases and organizational softwareprograms.Curate and organize Art History Display Case (20%)*Handle a wide variety of materials, including documents, photographs,paintings, ceramics, and films.*Utilize best practices for secure art handlingResearch storage solutions (30%)*Interprets, synthesizes and analyzes data with regards to best practicesfor housing the materials collection art and artifacts.Research historical use of materials and processes (30%)*Research and collects data through library research other project specificmethodology as instructed by faculty.*Meets with faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoingcommunication regarding the status of tasks.*Performs other related duties as required by faculty supervisor.Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Required Qualifications**MUST BE A STUDENT ENROLLED AT AN APPROVED COLORADO HIGHER EDUCATIONINSTITUTION***Must qualify for federal, state, or no need work-study.*Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.*Requires ability to follow safety and emergency procedures.*Applicants should possess a helpful and friendly approach to assistingothers, have a patient attitude, and be able to answer or discover answersto any questions students may have.*Requires the ability to conduct research and communicat
