Job Summary

Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of NGL Marketing transactions for assigned Gas Gathering Systems. Assist in reporting to Management the NGL business results with analysis and explanation of all significant variances from estimate.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  1. Knowledgeable of DCP NGL’s accounting systems (QLM, RightAngle, PeopleSoft, Business Objects).

  2. Assist in the monthly closing process with all current month transactions accurately recorded, valued, and documented.

  3. Assist in the review and evaluation of processes, procedures, and internal controls for the Liquids’ Accounting Department. Duties will also include ongoing testing in accordance to Sarbanes-Oxley.

  4. Ensure all balance sheet items are valid and supportable.

  5. If needed, accrue transactions on an estimate basis and true up upon receipts of actual data.

  6. Reconcile the forecast of monthly income to actual results.

  7. Work with NGL Marketing to segment business into understandable and logical management reporting segments to facilitate quick and accurate analysis of earnings results.

  • Analyze actual monthly margins and break out into appropriate margin streams, such as transportation, product pricing, inventory valuation, and compare to estimated business to accurately report true-up results discussed in earnings calls and reported to management. Also, analyze related party, affiliate, or 3rd party business for accurate reporting.
  1. Invoice all NGL Marketing revenues including sales, exchanges fees, transportation, tariffs, storage fees, and fractionation fees.

  2. Settlement of freight, tariff, product purchases, and service fees are accurately and timely paid to third parties.

  3. Ensure inventory volumes and values are accurately reported in accordance with the accepted accounting practices. Reconcile all inventory/exchange balances to appropriate third party statements or plant operational reports.

  4. Enhance customer service through accurate and timely statements of inventory, contract balances, invoices, and settlements. Answer internal/external customer inquiries on deal status and discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in accounting or finance with 0-3 years of previous work experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Adheres to the highest standards of ethical behavior when carrying out job responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a team and place organizational success above personal success

  • Understanding and application of GAAP

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and company specific accounting and operational systems

  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods

Special Demands

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is $50,800 - $81,200
