Thisposition will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staffproviding a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The paralegal will operate as part of ateam of attorneys and support staff to provide a high level of service to bothinternal and external clients.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assist in filing of PCT, foreign regional and U.S. patent applications andresponses, both electronically and paper (including preparation and reviewof necessary filing documents). Overall support for all aspects ofportfolio management.Assist in patent filing strategy discussions and due diligenceFile and assist in prosecution of design applications (including conventiondeadlines for filing abroad)Assist in drafting correspondence to clients regarding status of applicationsand patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications,publication notices and forwarding patent certificatesDraft detailed letter to client reporting Office ActionsProcess payment of foreign and U.S. Issue FeesProcess post allowance reviewsDraft preliminary amendments with claim identifiersPrepare office action responsesEffect national phase entry of PCT applications, and prepare and filecontinuing applicationsCorrespond with foreign associates, oversee payment of foreign associates'invoices, and preparation of reporting letters to clientEffect portfolio transfers and manage multi-client portfoliosKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:Knowledge of filing requirements for convention (non-PCT) applications.Extensive knowledge of PCT and U.S. patent rules and procedure; knowledge ofnational laws of other countries.Knowledge of various Courts systems and filing requirements.High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suiteapplications, Adobe Acrobat, U.S. Patent Office Electronic FilingSystem, Dialog and other internet research toolsMinimum of 3 years experience working in foreign patent prosecution in a lawfirm or in-house legal environmentExcellent client service skillsPossess effective written and oral communication skillsDisplay a strong client service orientation with a positive attitudeStrong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects andresponsibilities and resolving issues proactivelyAbility to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and makeeffective decisionsMaintain confidentiality of client informationExcellent organizational skillsMust be a good planner and detail-orientedAbility to manage a high-volume of work in fast-paced environment, and workwell under pressureAbility to meet deadlines, organize and prioritize assignments, and handlemultiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independently and take initiative to move projects tocompletion.Respectful, reliable and dependable team player; ability to workproductively with firm personnel at all levels and with minimal supervision.Must be flexible with work hours and overtime as needed.Preferred Experience:Four year d
