Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experiencedPhlebotomist/Medical Assistant to work in our lab at our Midtown location inDenver.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture, fingerstick, and ImplantedVascular Access DeviceOrders laboratory testing for in-house and reference testing through OrchardLISUtilizes electronic medical record to document PORT accessProcess all testing according to insurance rulesPerforms POC testing for INR'sMaintains inventory of laboratory suppliesOrders supplies through Mckesson and reference labsAssists physician with bone marrow biopsy collection and processing of sampleParticipates in the Quality Assurance ProgramDocuments critical result values appropriately in Orchard LIS Properly disposes of hazardous materialsAdheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution proceduresMaintains a clean working environment and restocks the laboratory area asneededMaintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medicalstaff.QUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from anaccredited program for Medical Assistants required. Minimum two yearsexperience as a medical assistant. Phlebotomy experience required.
