On the forefront of this adoption are AWS Solutions Architects,educating the customers on how to craft highly scalable, flexible,resilient, secure and cost-effective cloud architectures. As a trustedcustomer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizationsunderstand advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existingworkloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape andexecute a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS withinorganizations ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers. Theability to link technology with measurable business value is critical to asolutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to thinkstrategically about business, products, and technical challenges.We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable at the intersection oftechnology and business. They will be broadly competent across many areas oftechnology and deep in a handful of areas. It's ok for them to be less deepin some places, but we need to feel confident that they have thefundamentals and the ability to learn complex new technologies quickly.On the business side, we are looking for excellent communication skills. TheSolutions Architect will spend most of their day interacting with customersvia email, phone, WebEx, and in-person meetings. They will meet withdevelopers, team leads, engineering directors, and CxOs. Given the largeportion of customers who are self-served, interest in and ability to createone-to-many content such as reference architectures and blog posts is animportant part of the role.On the soft-skills side, we are looking for ability to moderate tone andtechnical depth based on audience and solid ability to pick up on non-verbalcommunication. Also ability to pick up on "un-said" drivers is important.On the personal attributes side, we are looking for individuals who arepassionate about technology and have the drive and capability to absorb andretain vast amounts of deep technical information continuously. People whomight get easily bored in slower moving environments might do well here.This role requires domestic travel up to 35%. We are open for the candidateto be based out of our Southern California locations in Irvine or SantaMonica, as well as our offices in San Francisco and Seattle.Roles and Responsibilities* Partner with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy toexceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS* Educate startup and SMB customers on the value proposition of AWS, andparticipate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designedfor successful deployment in the cloud* Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customersto enable them to be cloud advocates* Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledgeto customers considering or already using AWS* Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architectcommunity* As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure successin building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWSplatform* Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such aswhitepapers* Act as a technical liaison between customers and product teams and helpevolve the AWS platformBasic Qualifications* 5+ years design .and. implementation experience with distributed applications* 3+ years of experience in networking; infrastructure or databasearchitecture* Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies* Technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background desired* Working knowledge of cloud technologies* Experience presenting to both large and small audiences (Executives, ITManagement, and developers)* Experience communicating
