U.S. Mint TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in Denver, Colorado
This position is located in the Inventory Management Team, at the United States Mint, Denver. The position is responsible for the receipt, custody, and shipment of finished clad and bullion coin products and the receipt, handling, and custody of cash assets.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09 . If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Transportation Specialist, you will: -Be responsible for the receipt, custody, and shipment of finished clad and bullion coin products and the receipt, handling, and custody of cash assets.
-Act as the sole point of contact for custody and shipment of United States Mint, Denver supplies and equipment housed at various facilities.
-Maintain detailed records of transactions and prepares daily, monthly, and yearly reports to Headquarters.
-Be responsible for the Pallet Tracking System which tracks the pallets from the United States Mint, Denver to the Federal Reserve Bank and back.
-Schedule and assign transportation carriers for domestic shipments to the Federal Reserve Bank.
-Arrange carriers for the shipment of dies and reviews and audits carrier shipment and transportation charges for payments.

Specialized experience: For GS-09: Specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience in the implementation and oversight of inventory management services at various levels of the acquisition process, including the monitoring and tracking of usage and reorder transactions, preparing systems entries, conducting inventory management analysis and reconciliations to monitor inbound, outbound and Construction Work-in-Progress activities to validate inventory management balances in a manufacturing or production environment. OREDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related
Specialized experience:ForGS-07 is one year of experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience in the implementation of inventory management services including the acquisition and distribution of inventory, maintenance of written and automated records, and control of inventory systems in a manufacturing or production environment. OR EDUCATION: Completion of an undergraduate or graduate level of education in a course of study related to the position such as accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. Attach a copy of transcripts or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
