DISH Corporate Communications Manager — PR / External Comms, Retail Wireless in Englewood, Colorado

The DISH Corporate Communications team is seeking an experienced communications manager to help lead external public relations team initiatives supporting DISH’s growing Retail Wireless business, including Boost Mobile, Ting Mobile and Republic Wireless. The manager will develop and execute integrated communications strategies utilizing owned, earned and social media to drive brand awareness and subscriber acquisition.
The ideal candidate has a background delivering media relations related to retail wireless, is an efficient task manager skilled in communication program planning and execution, has experience in building media relationships across tech, business and consumer media outlets and demonstrates a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage agency resources.
Develop targeted technology and brand communications plans to support the goals of DISH’s growing retail wireless business.
Understand and simplify complex ideas and technical issues and make them relatable to those outside the industry.
Create and oversee proactive media programs, including the development of PR materials such as fact sheets, media pitches, FAQs, executive bios, press releases, blog posts and measurement reports; engage on crisis communications topics and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
Partner with Marketing, Product and Operations teams to develop compelling stories that amplify DISH’s leadership position in the Retail Wireless space; serve as corporate communications subject matter expert on mobile wireless and competitive services, as well as public relations best practices for integrated campaigns, measurement, trends and media opportunities.
Work cross-functionally to build communications strategies that engage customers and partners, drive brand affinity and support subscriber growth.
Serve as trusted communications advisor to the company; prepare and media train spokespeople, and provide constructive feedback to executives; staff interviews and presentations.
Establish and cultivate deep relationships with media, including reporters across national, local, trade/industry, consumer, business and tech outlets; actively pitch, conduct proactive follow-up, and track and report results.
Oversee agency resources; model a collaborative and team-oriented approach; work cross-functionally throughout the business.
A successful Corporate Communications Manager will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or similar applicable field and / or combination of relevant experience .
A minimum of 6 years of professional PR / communications experience, ideally with a combination of agency and in-house experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships with executives, colleagues, external partners and media.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency writing PR materials; strong editing / proofreading skills and solid grasp of AP style; ability to present effectively and persuasively.
Experience in consumer PR; demonstrated ability to use creative thinking to develop PR opportunities, media stories and social media content; experience using integrated social media tactics to supplement PR activities is a plus.
Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills; proven organizational and project management skills.
Compensation: $64,800.00/Yr. - $120,000.00/Yr.
