DescriptionFork Lift Duties and Responsibilities:Using a forklift loads and unloads pallets with containers of merchandise fromtrailers. Loads bales into trailers. Dumps trash container. Moves and stackspallets of pack away boxes in the storage area. Moves and stacks palletscontaining Target merchandise and puts in appropriate place.Pallets with containers of merchandise that are stacked in tiers must beblocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable andsecure against sliding or collapse. Containers of the same size shall bestacked one upon the other whenever possible. Large containers shall never bestacked on top of smaller containers.Keeps aisles, dock area, doorways, turns and passage ways clear. Keepstorage areas free from materials that can cause slips or trips.You will checks fluid levels, battery percentage, and hoses.You will check the wear and tear on the air pressure in tires (if anyproblems always report to supervisor).Dock Worker Duties and Responsibilities:The Dock Associate will primarily work in a warehouse environment moving,loading, unloading and staging trucks/trailers following Goodwill'swarehousing and safety procedures and guidelines. The Dock Associate will workwith our internal customers and will need to provide excellent customerservice displaying an "Attitude of Gratitude" in order to support themission of the organization. Use and become certified on forklift, pallet-jack, hand dolly or otherequipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product. Ensure that all trucks and trailers are loaded, unloaded and stagedaccording to instructions to minimize down time and provide smooth operationsacross departments. Ensure that the warehouse and trailers are well organized, stocked andclean to ensure items are stored and secured in an efficient manner. Follow warehouse storage and stacking procedures, ensuring items arestored in their appropriate areas. Prepare items for shipment and track product that is both shipped as wellas received by the Retail Center docks. Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellowemployees. Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for otherareas as required. Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS A pre-employment drug screen is required for this position. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous storage, warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is helpful. Able to obtain forklift certification to safely operate equipment. Have a high attention to detail and ability to make decisions. Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hoursper day. Able to lift up to 75lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required. Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings andholidays with occasional overtime as necessary. Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers,supervisors, staff and peers.Goodwill participates in E-Verify.
