WE ARE LOOKING FOR A STRONGCANDIDATE WITH LAB AND SOME LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE, WHO IS EXCITED TO WORK INA FAST PACED, RESULTS ORIENTED ENVIRONMENT. Here is some of what you can expect from being a Coordinator of LabServices with us: * You will evaluate and establish new policies and review existingpolicies and procedures, implementing changes where needed for Specimenprocessing and general laboratory * You will handle technical and customer relation problems in aprofessional and timely manner * You will help with new staff orientation and ongoing competencies forall staff in the Specimen Center department * You will maintain excellent communication with the Lab Director, LabSupervisors, and Pathologists * You will communicate with other allied health care professionalsaccording to job requirements * You will maintain proficiency in venipuncture, capillary puncture andbleeding times on pediatric and adult patients * You will perform test requests on patients with many different clinicalconditions (from screening of healthy outpatients up to and including themajor, complex intensive care patients) and all age ranges from newbornsto geriatric patients * You will assists in the clerical duties of the department, performrequired function verification of equipment and assists with pathologysecretary duties when needed * You will help with ordering supplies and inventory management for thedepartment Qualifications you will need for this role: * BS degree in related sciences is preferred * Additional coursework or experience in computer science or dataprocessing preferred * Prefer 2 years of clinical laboratory experience * Must be able to make independent decisions and demonstrate effectiveoral and written communication * Must have the ability to work with departmental instrumentation andsystems * Must demonstrate above average manual dexterity and visual acuity andpossess good color discrimination skills * Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate ability tocoordinate multiple procedures, handle frequent interruptions, andsupervise diverse personalities and skill levels * Must demonstrate good fiscal management skills Swedish Medical Center, part of HCA's HealthONE, is located in thesouth metro Denver area where it has been a proud member of the community formore than 110 years.
