U.S. Army Medical Command Cook in Fort Carson, Colorado
About the Position: The Cook position is in the Nutrition Care Division at Evans Army Community Hospital located on Fort Carson. Performs a variety of food service duties assigned in the Production and Service Branch.
Prepare limited breakfast foods that will involve grilling or frying.
Perform regular and modified salad preparation tasks such as making fruit and vegetable salads; cutting, scraping, chopping, dicing, and peeling fruits and vegetables.
Set up and replenishing the salad bar in accordance to established procedures.
Perform ingredient measurement tasks.
Weigh vegetables and fruits in accordance with instructions and directions provided.
Perform patient tray service duties to include the assembly of patient trays.
Replenish food to service counters, steam tables, and side service stands with hot and cold foods.
Arrange food items for regular and modified diets.

Incumbent is exposed to minor cuts, burns, bruises, and scalds. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from mopping and spilled liquids. Incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures of heat and cold from the hot kitchen to the refrigerated areas.
