DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSEThe Director of Financial Systems will be responsible for managing theprincipal financial systems and other systems that house financial data andare used in the finance function. This position acts as a primary liaisonbetween Finance and IT and supports the Accounting, FPandA and the GlobalFinance teams by managing and supporting Woodward's financial reportingsystemsReporting to Senior Finance Leadership, this role has high level exposureand interaction with the Accounting COE and Senior Leadership throughout thebusiness. Primary responsibilities include automating processes whilemaintaining the integrity and integration of excel and ERP system data,supporting Corporate Accounting and the FPandA groups. This role will beresponsible for managing the Financial Systems team anddeveloping/maintaining these resources to ensure the business has fullsupport, functionality and appropriate internal controls within this area.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDesigns, implements and maintains standardized processes for financialsystems that support automation and integration of excel financial data fromexisting company systems on a multi-region and global level.Providing necessary leadership, direction, and coaching to FinancialSystems teamEnsure data integrity by analyzing and directing the adjustment of datacontrols to support accurate financial results.Collaboration and partnership with end-users/customers, project managementteams and continuous improvement initiatives to improve customer experience,business processes and increase utilization of systems functionality.Implement and maintain system security protocols to ensure internal control offinancial processes and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Create and design financial reports utilizing the system to support theAccounting COE's budgeting and forecasting processMay participate in preparing and interpreting analysis that leads to thesetting of strategic objectives and implementation plansCoordinates with Corporate Controller for input on strategy and implementationof enterprise wide changes.Actively pursues continuous improvement opportunities.Participates and represents finance function on miscellaneous projects asrequested.OTHER FUNCTIONSSupport selection processes for new software impacting the financial systemsworking with the Information Technology department including designmodifications and interfaces.Support Finance and Accounting in design, development and distribution ofinternal and external financial reporting requirementsUnderstand software improvements and work with end users to implement whereappropriate.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESProject Management expertise and understanding of PM methodologiesStrong organizational and planning skillsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze and interpret financial dataDemonstrated leadership skills in the areas of: building effective teams;appropriately developing direct reports, self, and others; dealing withambiguity; interpersonal and political savvy; change management andpolished written and verbal communication skills.Results-driven, continuous improvement mindsetStrong skills utilizing a large integrated ERP/MRP computer system (e.g.SAP, JD Edwards), strong Excel skillsStrategic thinker who can identify, communicate and implement a long-termvision for financial systems.Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skillsGeneral knowledge or interest in gaining knowledge of generally acceptedaccounting principles (GAAP)Demonstrates sound and logical thought processes when making decisions andgiving direction.Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.Basic understanding of company's operations and products.
