DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSEThe Director Global Benefits position is responsible for global benefits plansand programs that align rewards with company goals. This role providesleadership, management and direction for the global benefits organization.The Director Global Benefits plans, prioritizes and directs team members inadministering benefit plans and programs on an enterprise-wide basisESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic and operational accountability for global benefits plans. Setsgoals, objectives and priorities for all health, welfare and retirementplan activities globally. Establishes the annual budget and plays major rolein long-range and strategic planning. Accountable for the U.S. benefitsfunctiLeadership and development of a team of benefits and technology specialistsEnsures Woodward's benefits plans provide the appropriate attraction valuein the market, while continuing to meet business needs.Manages our suite of benefits providers, including negotiations, vendorselection, quality reviews, and RFPs. Develops strong relationships withexternal business partners (third party administrators, serviceproviders, actuaries, auditors and consultants).Leads or participates on Woodward's relevant committees (e.g. InvestmentCommittee, Administrative Committee). Key contributor for providingcontent and managing external and internal stakeholders for each committee.Serve as Trustee to the UK Pension Plan.Leads compliance and disclosure activities for all plans. Works closely withand communicates with the Finance team on cross-functional matters involvingglobal benefit plansInfluences HR's strategic plan and direction of future benefit plans andprogramsCollaborates with external business partners to stay abreast of global benefittrends, best practices and compliance requirements. Advises leadership onthe potential impact to business operationsEngages regularly with HR Business Partners to collaborate and seek input andfeedback on the design and/or effectiveness of our benefits plans,programs and communicationsDrives a road map of automation of manual processes or outdated benefitstechnologyHas primary responsibility for the financial performance of all globalbenefits plans and programs and provides reports to leadership as required.Provides functional leadership and subject matter expertise foracquisition/divestiture activity. Key member of integration teamHas primary responsibility for designing, managing and monitoring globaldefined contribution and defined benefit plansResponsible for direction of global rewards and recognition programs,including service awardsAdvances industry best practices regarding innovations to global benefitsplans and programs.Responsible for budget preparation, management and oversight for all globalbenefits plans.OTHER FUNCTIONSContributes annually to the development of the proxy statement.Manages and administers the Executive Benefit Plan.Interacts with, and provides guidance to senior leaders regarding areas ofsubject matter expertise.Leadership oversight for U.S. benefits open enrollment process.Leads and/or participates in global teams.Responsible for disability and leave processes.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESStrong motivation to apply their knowledge, training and background todevelop a best in class global benefits program.Deep expertise in U.S. benefits administration including advanced knowledge ofregulatory and compliance issuesStrong understanding of the complex landscape of non-U.S. benefits and theability to create and implement a strategy for optimization globallyGrowth mindset with the desire to continually drive processes and programsforwardStrong financial analysis capabilities. Well-developed accounting andfinancial skills related to global benefits plan administration. Must
