We create industry leading products thatfocus on great design, excellent user experience, and high reliability.As we develop a new generation of products, we are looking for passionate,hands-on individuals who will champion this effort and take our mechanicaldesign to the next level.Primary Responsibilities - Owning and assisting in the mechanical design anddevelopment of key strategic projects. Many projects involve design andcreation of submersible sensors with tight mechanical requirements that mustmeet an expected life of 5-10 years.Work with marketing and other engineers to plan and execute projects, assistin the creation of appropriate product and technical specifications.Create 3D models and 2D detail drawings for products and componentsDesign and build production fixtures used to facilitate manufacturing ofproductsTroubleshoots field failures and internal testing failures, driving to rootcause and corrective actionsUpdates product designs as required to meet quality and cost improvement goalsCreates, implements, and monitors appropriate test plans for new productsand product improvementsWorks with manufacturing team to ensure product launches and product qualitystandards are maintainedRequirements:Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical EngineeringProficient user of CAD systems (Solidworks preferred) including 3D modelsand 2D detail drawingsStrong communication skills to be able to work effectively with marketing,engineering, technical support, and customersExcellent self-starter skills and ability to work independently in afast-paced environmentProcess oriented problem solver and team player with a strong work ethicPositive attitude and good work ethicApplicant must be eligible to work in the United StatesDesired Skills:Logical thinker who is not afraid to dive into difficult issues outside oftheir area of expertiseProficient in design of both injection molded plastics and machined componentsLean manufacturing experience2+ years' experience in product designExperience in the water industry or experience designing small submersibledevicesIn-Situ Inc. builds world-class environmental monitoring instruments ... andworld-class careers!Apply online at if above qualifications are met.Please no phone calls about this job.Principals only.
