OPERATIONS SPECIALIST - AIRFRAME SYSTEMS DRAKE CAMPUS (1801297)Position PurposeThe Operations Specialist (machining) reports to Operations or TechnicalLeadership. The position supports production from a technical standpoint andhas a solid understanding of the product being produced in the area. It is thefirst line of defense and/or consultant to other Operations Specialistregarding production related issues. The position solves difficultmanufacturing problems and works with members to implement process and productimprovements. The initial months of the position will involve extensivetravel.Essential FunctionsImplements six sigma/lean tools in a team setting. Drives processimprovements. Organizes cell/area in 5SResolves problems on the manufacturing floor and assists in Root CauseAnalysisRecommends and implements process improvements for new product introductionsand/or existing manufacturing processesIdentifies mistakes on various manufacturing documents and provides redlinesto engineeringWrites and releases new work instructions and other manufacturingdocumentation. Revises existing work instructions and other manufacturingdocumentationTrains Level 1 Operations Specialists and other members on manufacturingprocessesEvaluates new tooling for application to current designsRecommends and implements revisions of methods of operation or materialhandling, alterations in equipment layout or other changes to increaseproduction or improve standardsDispositions standard non-conformances (i.e. QNs/NCRs/ATRs)Other FunctionsBuilds prototypes and mockups with preliminary drawingsParticipates in cross-functional team projects and initiativesPrograms production equipment using applicable softwareRecommends or conceptualizes improvements with tools.
