DescriptionPosition PurposeUnder the direction of and reporting to the Department Leader, the StockHandler follows procedures and instructions to physically transfers materialsbetween processes or areas, maintaining accurate inventory and traceabilityrecords. Material Handling activities include (but are not limited to)receiving, basic visual inspection, stocking, returns, picking,counting, weighing, packaging, kitting, issuing, delivering andcycle counting. Works with minimal general supervision.Essential FunctionsPerforms a variety of administrative tasks such as verifying or filling outpaperwork, inputting or providing data, maintaining inventory accuracy,etc., completing paperwork, and data entry or reporting.Performs a variety of organizational functions such as counting, weighingpackaging etc. to prepare materials for subsequent processes.Physically transfers material from one process to another.Follow all safety procedures identified in the stock area in regard tobending, lifting and the operation of all material handling equipment.Coordinates and prioritizes materials and item movements from receiving andproduct drop off areas, sorts and stores on racks, trays and shelves in apredetermined order, i.e. stocking parts.Attaches identifying tags or labels to stock or marks information oncontainers.Picks material from racks, trays and shelves, and prepares them forassembly, sub-assembly, spare part orders or other subsequent processes.Maintains accurate inventory records and traceability on inventory items.Counts inventory for cycle counting purposes.Supports purge coordinator as necessary to isolate non-conforming parts.Identifies quality/process improvements.Other FunctionsIdentifies non-conformance and records for dispositioning and traceability.Promotes teamwork and cooperative efforts.Understands tool and gage management systems.May be required to run simple motorized equipment to perform functions (e.g.bandsaw, chemical etching, vibro engraving)May be required to be certified and operate powered material handlingequipment (e.g. forklift truck, motorized pallet handler, crane)QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Solid reading, writing and math skills.Ability to manage tasks, interruptions and meet deadlines as required.Solid knowledge of WISE.Good ability to work in a team atmosphere.Basic understanding of PC's including E-mail.Basic knowledge of the Calibration process.Good communcation Skills.Knowledge of 6 SIGMA Processes.
