Simon Ready Mix Driver-Fort Morgan, CO in Fort Morgan, Colorado

Summary: Drives a commercial truck equipped with auxiliary mixer todeliver ready-mix concrete to job sites.This position is integral to our ready-mix supply operations, and offers achallenging and rewarding work experience, with the opportunity to work withinternal and external customers on a daily basis, as well as help the restof the team as-needed at the plant site. Highly qualified candidates willhave a valid commercial drivers' license, clean driving record, andexperience driving a commercial vehicle in a similar environment. Drivers whohave recently received a commercial license, and/or are working to obtaina commercial license will also be considered. All prospective candidatesshould enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather, be open to working ina fast-paced environment, and have the ability provide excellent service tointernal and external customers.Responsibilities: Supports the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives Maneuvers truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel,cement, and water and starts mixer Slumps loads to specifications/requirements Drives truck to location for unloading and ensures conditions at jobsite are safe Interacts professionally with internal and external customers Assembles chutes and attaches to truck; operates controls on truck torelease concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveyingcontainer or directly into area to be poured with concrete Performs daily a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and truckto assure a safe vehicle; documents any maintenance that may be required Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on mixerand on truck May operate other equipment such as loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and dump trucks Assists with the form/pour/strip of precast products May spray surfaces of truck with protective/cleaning compound toprevent adhering of concrete Assists work crews as required; assists with maintenance of plant andequipment Maintains necessary logs, timecards and other required paperworkQualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: Class B CDL with Air Brakes and clean driving history At least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred Basic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not required Ability to work with multiple types of individuals and interactprofessionally with internal and external customers Prior experience working with concrete production, construction,and/or related field preferredPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions: Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with orwithout assistance Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and armsand stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain Frequent exposure to loud noise Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, andairborne particles Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicalsWorkplace Values Requirements: Support, promote, and practice Simon core values, vision, and mission Support, promote, and comply with Simon Code of Ethics, WorkplaceConduct, Safety, and other established policies at all times Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safetyinitiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by theSafety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams Align personal vision and goals with larger goals of the Company Support continuous improvement to improve Simon processes,performance, safety, and overall successCompensation and Benefits:Compensation*: $18.00 DOE*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to bedetermined based on assessment of an individual s qualifications,education, and experience relative to the role.Benefits: All fu
