JBS USA is seeking a Category Development Manager that will strengthen our Consumer Value-Added team’s capabilities and deliver best-in-class insights to help accelerate our consumer brand & category performance. This role will report to the CVA Director of Sales & Business Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role will play an integral part in developing analytic, merchandising, assortment and strategic retail initiatives that elevate CVA’s influence with all retail customers.
Use and understand IRI/Nielsen data, retailer-owned data, and other resources, to generate actionable insights that drives category understanding, addresses issues, and capitalizes on sales growth opportunities.
Understand Value-Added Meat consumer shopping behaviors and develop insights & strategies that impact category and JBS brand sales performance.
Work closely with the CVA Sales teams to align on strategic priorities and support the selling effort using a Category Development data-driven approach.
Develop and present Value-Added Meat Category Reviews for retail customers that drive category growth, market share expansion and financial plan success for both JBS and customers.
Develop actionable reporting tools to educate and enable the CVA team on all market & customer opportunities.
Partner with JBS Business Units across proteins to deliver global, total meat case solutions when appropriate.

Must have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated category development experience, including a portfolio of personally built, successful category development presentations and highly effective scorecard and reporting tools.
Additional Preferred Experience: 3-5 years of sales and/or marketing experience in the consumer packaged goods industry; RFG meat experience a plus.
Self-motivated and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Consumer insights, syndicated data tools (84.51, IRI, Nielsen, or Spins), data mining, and story development expert.
Experience with planogram software (JDA/Apollo).
Education: Bachelor Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Computer Skills: Industry Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Skilled user of virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc.
Position located in Greeley, CO. Travel to customer or broker locations throughout the nation, as required.
