North Range Behavioral Hlth-Greeley Peer Support Specialist, True North Residential in Greeley, Colorado

Days and hours may vary Sunday through Saturday, 7am - 7pm. Paid monthly.Provide a supportive environment to help clients identify their own goalstoward recovery and/or resiliency. Teach skills to work toward theclient's self-identified life goals (social, educational, housing,benefits, illness management, etc.). Use unique personal experience toengage clients in a peer-to-peer capacity. Provide on-going appraisal ofclient and family situation. Secure resources and services for clients withmild to severe mental illness, disorders and disabilities. Coordinate withinternal as well as external supportive resources to deliver needed servicesto clients. Collaborate with treatment team members regarding services inresponse to treatment plan.Minimum Qualifications:Education/Credentials:- High School Diploma or GED and/or ability to successfully demonstratereading, writing, and speaking skills- Associates degree and/or further schooling in related field, preferred- Successful completion of peer-to-peer training that meets core competencystandards as specified by the agency highly desired (i.e. State CoreCompetencies)- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred- Valid Colorado driver's license and driving record that meets with agencyinsurability as set forth for someone that must transport clients/programparticipants- A background check and substance abuse screen will be required.Experience:- Must have personal experience by having a successful return home ofchildren following a Dependency and Neglect case with DHS and have beenimpacted by substance abuse issues, mental illness, other co-occurringchallenges, associated with the recovery/peer support movement, or inrecovery and/or demonstrated resiliency, personally, for at least one year.- Must be 1-year free of drugs and/or alcohol.- Must be 1-year since completion of treatment.- Must be able to demonstrate working a recovery program.- Experience with Treatment Court or a graduate of a Treatment Court program- Motivated to support others in the recovery process- Have successfully completed Substance Use Disorder treatment- No current or recent legal involvement- Ability to take additional peer-to-peer training as required by the job.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Substance Use Disorder, mild to severe mental illness, loss/grief,other disorders and/or disabilities and the recovery/resiliency process.- Basic and routine computer programs and software.- Basic and routine records maintenance and filing practices.- Basic and routine office management practices and operating procedures.- Workplace policies and professionalism.- Organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures.- Effective de-escalation techniques.- Motivational interviewing and motivational stages.- Maintain basic record keeping systems and procedures.- Read and interpret treatment/care plan instructions andrecommendations, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduralmanuals.- Effectively and positively communicate, including under emotionallycharged and stressful situations, both orally and in writing with a widerange of individuals and constituencies.- Work as a team member, maintain effective working relationships, andfoster a positive and cooperative work environment.- Teach and demonstrate life skills that assist clients in theirrecovery/resiliency or movement toward increased independence.- Learn, teach, and implement evidence-based practice material andcurriculum, as appropriate for specified program(s).- Demonstrated organization, time management and prioritizing skills.- Manage relationships in a constructive and positive manner.- Follow-up and follow through skills.- Plan, organize and execute multiple tasks and assignments.- Perform tasks with a focus on exemplary customer service.- Maintain confidentiality.Responsibilities:- Provide services for clients as assigned by Administrative/ClinicalSupervisor.- Use personal experience to model the value of every cli
