Charter Communications/Spectrum Principal Engineer I Architecture and Design Specifications in Greenwood Village, Colorado
JOB SUMMARYResponsible for the validation of all HFC and Fiber design specifications toensure adherence and compliance to established company specifications,standards and policies. This position will work collaboratively and crossfuctionally with Construction Engineering and Advanced Engineering to ensurealignment and approval of all specifications to improve accuracy of allengineering designs thus enhancing the overall customer experience.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance thecustomer experience.Proactively validate all design specifications against company approvedspecifications, standards and tolerances.Tests and reviews system designs.Provides Engineering Technical support and guidance to regional personnel andensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation aremet.Mentors and guides the work of technical staff.Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, asapplicable.Knows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by manager.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write and speak the English language to communicate withemployees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and bywritten communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional mannerBasic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE,ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging,Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocolsBasic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols andnetwork topologyBasic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI ModelBasic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the currentoperations.Basic knowledge of network devices and basic network appliancesBasic knowledge of network designing software, such as VisioStrong knowledge of RF Engineering principals.
