DescriptionThe Opportunity and What You'll DoUlteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Internship in ourTransmission and Distribution department starting Summer 2021. The focus ofthe internship will be for an individual of high integrity to grow in personalexcellence through learning technical and communications skills whilesupporting client success through work on project deliverables. TheEngineering Intern works under close supervision, and receives specific anddetailed instructions required to complete tasks and achieve results expected.The Engineering Intern will work closely with engineers to completeassignments and meet project deadlines. Assignments will focus on structuralcomponents and design of 69kV-345kV transmission lines including wood andsteel poles, foundation design, and total transmission structural systemdesign. Assignments may also include design of 12kV-44kV utility distributionand underground wind and solar collection systems, and work in AutoCAD.Opportunities for site visits and trainings may be provided. An internshipwith Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practicalapplication of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a topconsulting engineering firm.What We Expect from YouMinimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil orElectrical Engineering preferred.Specific coursework such as structural analysis (concrete and steel) ispreferred.Must be able to work in one of our office locations. Option to work in thefall is based on Ulteig's needs.AutoCAD experience is preferred.Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and any additional software knowledge depending onspecialization is preferred.Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.What You Can Expect from UlteigFor 75 years, we've built a culture focused on people - both our clientsand our employees.
