We are building our team and looking for an experienced Accountant based at our office in Lafayette, CO who will help us create the best plant-based protein company in the world.
The Accountant reports to the Head of Accounting and Finance of the Planterra business unit. There is close interaction with Operations, Marketing and Sales as well as other business units within the organization. The desired candidate must have strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. This role is responsible for a variety of high-visibility and high-impact reports and is a great opportunity for the right person to launch a long-term career with Planterra.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for preparing P&L forecasts, estimates and actual results
Preparation of comparison P&L’s for reporting accuracy of forecasts and estimates versus the final weekly and monthly results
Budget versus actual results comparisons and analysis
Manage customer rebate, accrual and brokerage agreements including initiating new contracts, renewal of existing contracts, calculation of monthly accruals and subsequent payouts
Coordinate the valuation of inventory in compliance with internal control policies
Month-end close processes completed in compliance with internal control policies
General ledger reporting, analytics and other ad hoc research
Annual government surveys and other external reporting as needed
Various other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned and as workload allows
Coordination with internal and external auditors
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree preferred
2+ years related experience
Strong analytical skills and proven attention to detail
Intermediate Excel skills required
Experience with SAP, SAP BPC, SAP Business Objects, and/or QlikView required
Previous Planterra/JBS/Pilgrim’s experience strongly preferred
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
Base salary range of $45,255 – $60,000
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
