Unlock your potential here!Neurodiagnostic technologists perform many tests that diagnose problems withthe brain and nervous system, as well as sleep disorders. They usestate-of-the-art digital equipment to record electrical patterns throughoutthe brain and nervous system, which result in valuable data that the doctorneeds to diagnose and treat the patient. The data gathered from these testscan help diagnose conditions like epilepsy, seizure disorders, strokes,degenerative brain disease, among others.Collaborating with doctors to treat patients who range in age from newborns tothe elderly, neurodiagnostic technologists perform many tests that helpdiagnose brain and nervous system disorders. Here are some of the things youwill do as a technician:Your role performs EEGs in the laboratory and at the bedside of critically illpatients in the intensive care units.You will performambulatory EEG recordings and electrocerebral silencetracings.Your role performs intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring (INDM) of patientsin the epilepsy center.You role performs evoked potential recordings.You assists physicians in EMG, NCV and TCD studies.Your role shares an on-call rotation with other staff for emergency studies.Equipment listing:ElectroencephalographImpedance meterINDM equipmentRequirements for the Position:BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.Must be ABRET EEG registered. Knowledge/experience in neurophysiologictesting including evoked potentials.Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accreditedby the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalentformal training.
