Nordson MEDICAL workswith doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at anypoint in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.Job SummaryApplies broad knowledge of principles and practices in product development.Provides insight regarding general design constraints and practices early inthe project life cycle. Independently evaluates, selects, and adaptsstandard manufacturing techniques to produce moderately complex products.Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields.Works on multiple projects with low level of oversight from project managerand/or technical lead and provides specific design feedback.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities* Provide technical support to the project team to develop medical devicemanufacturing processes* Work closely with technical team to build critical prototypes andpre-production units to meet customer requirements and timelines* Responsible for providing direction and/or feedback on RandD level processdocumentation (document processes, materials, and inspection results)* Drive process selection and development based on customer providedrequirements* Inspect finished units and record data using Good Documentation Practices(GDP)* Apply strong technical skills in a RandD setting* Train and support operators working on complex Development projects* Participate in customer discussions and reviewsEducation and Experience:* High School Diploma or GED* 2-5 years of experience in medical device technician role* 2-3 years of medical device operator experience a plus* Would consider someone from a non medical manufacturing background if theyare accustomed to assembling precision components with experience in makingunique runs and work with various product linesSkills and Abilities* Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal* Must be a self-motivated and ambitious individual that also has the skillset to work effectively on a team* Candidate must have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to adynamic and quickly changing work environment* Candidate must have strong problem-solving skills* Must have exceptional hands on technical skills. Preferred experiencedirectly related to catheter manufacturing (liner stretching, braiding,braid cut back, polymer reflow, etc.)* Highly motivated to learn new technology and processes* Focus on quality* Knowledge of braided shafts, balloon catheters and complex steerabledelivery systems a plusWorking Conditions and Physical DemandsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.
