The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Learn morPrimary Responsibilities include:Develops and maintains detailed production schedules to establish sequence andlead times of each operation/task to meet completion dates defined bycontract milestonesProvides planned release, in-shop, and completion dates to MaterialPlanning for program planned Work Orders for the initial scheduleWorks closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Management and TestManagement to develop the build sequence and duration of fabrication,assembly, installation, test and other manufacturing operations for theguidance of all program team membersPrepares and releases production work packagesConfers with Production Supervisor and Test Manager for WIP status regardingprogress and problemsProvides program status to Program Manager and program team members throughthe Program Production Schedule and other reports. Coordinates with programteam members to address problems, providing scheduling alternatives andworkarounds including rework schedulesCoordinates with Material Planning to assure availability and timeliness ofmaterials and parts required to support established schedulesSupports proposal activities with regard to resource impact of current andfuture workRecords weekly status of assigned program, progress and setbacks with goalsfor the following weekCloses out work packages, which includes putting the "As Built Records"into an archive stateEducation, Experience and Skills required:HS Degree in related discipline plus:Experience in the manufacturing environment (preferably governmentcontracting) and strong knowledge of production and material control processesAPICS certification is preferredComputer proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access is required. Experience in MSProject, MS PowerPoint and Visio is desired.
