Larimer County Departmentof Natural Resources is seeking a skilled and talented individual to join ourteam as a Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker Estes Park Area and Loveland AreaFull-time availability. We are looking for a knowledgeable and friendlyperson to assist with our mission. ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:Performs general upkeep and cleaning of campgrounds and park facilities.Performs landscape maintenance including mowing, watering, pruning, andweed control.Operates a variety of light equipment including mowers and chainsaws.Performs preventative maintenance of tools and equipment used in parks groundsmaintenance including mowers, weed eaters, hand tools, etc.Advises park users of recreational opportunities and park regulations.Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of thejob.To view the full job description, click .The ideal candidate will:Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and walk long distancesover rough terrain.Be able to push, pull, and lift heavy objects.Be able to operate mowers and string trimmers.Know you to use and maintain grounds keeping equipment, mowers, and stringtrimmers.Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.Follow written and verbal instructions.Greet a wide variety of park visitors in a friendly, welcoming, andhelpful manner, and communicate effectively with a wide diversity ofindividuals and groups.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other countyemployees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, andmembers of the community. QualificationsThree (3) months experience in general construction practices andoperating and using related equipment and tools required. Some previoussupervisory experience preferred.High School Diploma or GED required.Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License required. Supplemental InformationThis is a temporary position.The successful candidate for this position must be available to weekends.An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of apre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegalsubstance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical orotherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will resultin the contingent offer of employment being revoked.
